Less then a week ago we received  a phone call from a family friend.  He had bad news for us.  A friend of my family that we have known for years passed away at the age of 53.  Gord was a great guy and will truly be missed.  He had just started getting healthy after being heavy all of his life.  My parents saw him less then a month ago and he looked great.  Gord was home alone in Neepawa, not far from the hospital, he started getting chest pains, and called 911.  It took the ambulance only minutes to get there, but they could not resuscitate him.  He left behind a wife, and two step children. As sad as this is there is something that will forever stick out in my mind.  His wife, Elaine after years of a difficult marriage and then being a single parent, finally found Gord only ten years ago.  She is so happy or the short time that they did spend together.  She said that she found her Canada goose.  A mate for life, and now her goose is gone.

If you are lucky enough to have found your goose, make sure you tell them that you love them every day.  Never take anything for granted.  Always appreciate the time that you have together.  Love them, laugh with them and enjoy each other.  Life is never certain.  So lets make sure that we live each day to the fullest.
